New Zealand Oil Consumption and Production

Data sources
The consumption data to 2007 is from the BP Statistical Review 2008.
The forecast shows a 3% consumption decline rate from 2007. The current data says consumption peaked in 2005.
The production data up to 2006 comes from Crown Minerals. The 2007 number (which includes the new Tui production) comes from Energyfiles.com. I've heard that the NZ production is set to increase again in 2008, then plummet again in 2009 - time will tell.
It's interesting to notice that there seems to be no connection between NZ production and NZ consumption. It would be interesting to plot world production against NZ consumption and see if there is any correlation. What we pay for petrol, is kinda related to world oil prices. Global production has been on a wiggly-plateau since 2005. Local petrol prices (and world oil price) has gone way up since 2005.
